This experienced PCB Designer is expected to work closely with the team to provide technical assistance. The PCB Designer creates printed circuit board layouts and routings of components meeting engineering design standards. He/She will act as an interface between development and manufacturing to address and resolve problems in accordance with company policies and procedures. A commitment to program goals and professional demeanor are essential. The position is based in our Bothell Headquarters. Principal Responsibilities: Assist Electrical Engineers in the development of state of the art designs of new or modified, high-density, high-speed complex Analog and Digital printed circuit boards. Work with preliminary schematics, parts lists, and basic description of the board function, configuration and arrangement as defined by engineering. Design printed circuit boards meeting mechanical and voltage requirements, EMI/EMC standards, certification agency requirements. Perform library part creation and maintain a parts library by integrating existing and newly built components. Coordinate the transfer of PCB, Flex, and Rigid Flex documentation and interface with fabrication suppliers. Coordinate transfer of PCB prototype documentation and interface with assembly suppliers. Act as an interface between development and manufacturing to address and resolve PCB assembly inquiries and problems. Read, analyze and interpret Gerber data, schematics, diagrams, and technical procedures. Assist with Peer reviews: Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), Signal integrity and testing. Perform maintenance, upgrades, modifications and updates to designs and drawings. Manage, maintain and meet aggressive project schedules. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 10+ years direct PCB design experience. Minimum of an Associate Degree in electronics/engineering (BSEE is plus) with a job related emphasis and five to seven years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Must have experience with PCB design software. Specific knowledge of PAD’s Power PCB and Power Logic schematic capture, Mentor tools, SolidWorks, and systems, an understanding of electrical circuit theory and analysis and good knowledge of power electronics. Strong knowledge of board fabrication processes and materials is necessary. Knowledge of Class II and Class III electronics. IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) certificate. Knowledge of FDA, GMP, IEC, RoHS, and ISO regulations and guidelines preferred. Detail oriented, methodical, well organized, and interested in the latest technology. Results oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong commitment to meeting customer needs. Good “team player” with strong interpersonal skills. Self-starter" who is highly motivated.
